Well-known Lithuanian sound masters and a composer from Ukraine invite you on a sound journey through Klaipėda's industrial landscapes. Here, the harsh reality of industry will intertwine with the fragile sounds of nature, and the creators who will appear on stage will each explore this unusual interaction between man and the environment in their own way.
The "Sound Navigation" concert promises to be a journey where industry and nature become one, where the rusting machine rustles like grass in the wind, and metallic sounds are born in the silence of concrete, leading us to unusual and unexplored sound spaces.
Yana Shliabanska is a composer and sound artist, whose music can be heard in the modern urban jungle and the untouched nature. Her chamber, orchestral and electroacoustic music radiates deep meditation, exploring the sonic intersections between man-made technology and the harmony of nature. After graduating from the Kyiv National Academy of Music, she is a representative of contemporary sound art, which has already been heard in various European countries and across the Atlantic. https://soundcloud.com/yana-shlyabanska
„Girnų giesmės“ is a post-industrial experimental project, the sound of which seems to reflect the ancient rumbling of stone millstones. The music composed by Laurynas Jukonis leads the listeners through harsh, rhythmically repeating textures‘ fields, where old worlds merge with today's metal and dust-filled air. This layering of sounds, although rough, remains organic, as if the primitive forces of nature are regaining their voice. https://girnugiesmes.bandcamp.com/
McKaras is a creator who experiments with drone, dark ambient and death industrial styles while generating modular collages. His sounds seem to be born from the silence, where the electromagnetic anomalies of the old cemeteries turn into whispers that penetrate the depths of despair, anxiety and death. These are the sounds that carry the cold yet alive pulse of the wasteland. https://www.mic.lt/lt/baze/elektronine/kompozitoriai-atlikejai/Mckaras/
In his work, Donatas Bielkauskas balances between the breath of living nature and the creaks of dead industry. His project "Dying. City. For life.'' speaks of a city whose industrial noises merge with the sound of winds, sea and trees. In the new composition, which he will present at the concert, we will hear a mysterious dialogue between the rusting walls of factories and living seascapes, where metal merges with the waves of the ocean, and concrete with moss. https://www.mic.lt/lt/baze/folk-world-country/kompozitoriai-atlikejai/donis/
Kristijonas Lučinskas skillfully combines industrial rhythms with ethnic elements, creating sound worlds that are sometimes filled with ancient legends, and sometimes with the harsh coldness of the city. His music is like a hazy dream where meditation turns into an unpredictable, contrasting soundscape. At the concert, Kristijonas will reveal the stricter side of his creativity, allowing the sounds of Klaipėda industry to sound like a cold breath of metal, disappearing between the gusts of wind and the harsh silence of the coast. https://www.soundprovocation.com/driezhas.html
