Artistic Residency / composer, sound artist Yana Shliabanska (Ukraine)

Ukrainian composer and sound artist, author of the chamber, orchestral music, interactive sound installations, music for theatre and performances, electroacoustic music, which has performed in Ukraine, Portugal, Germany, Poland, Spain, France, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, the Czech Republic, Austria, Norway, the Netherlands, and the USA.

Graduated from the National Academy of Music (Faculty of Composition). Current PhD-student of the National Academy of Music (research on contemporary composition techniques). Co-founder and member of the electroacoustic duo GUMA.

Was supported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and granted by the President of Ukraine for the interactive sound installation. Got support from Institute Francais, and from April 2022 is a resident of Cite International des Arts in Paris.

In 2023 together with a creative team from Lithuania and Ukraine has been awarded with the highest Lithuanian theater award “Golden Cross of the Stage” for the sound and movement performance “Insomnia” in the category of Social Resonance Performance of the Year.

Main interests: music with electronics, inter-disciplinary projects, composition for ensemble, collaborative projects. Instruments played – piano.
